CHEVY - BULLET ANTENNA - TUFFLOCK / TUFFGUARD
- Your package should include 1 bullet antenna and 2 antenna bases. (See reference images below)
- Remove the factory antenna off your vehicle.
- Ensure the male threads of your trucks clean, removing any dirt or residue to ensure the compound adhesive can properly adhere.
- Some Chevy/GMC models have a M6 threaded male stud on the truck and some are M7, which is why we include the two different size antenna bases.
- Thread the correct antenna base onto the stud, either the M6 or the M7. You can tighten by hand. (The M7 base has a groove machined into the surface to identify it. **If you are having issues getting the adapter to thread onto the stud due to the plastic trim not being perfectly aligned with the center of the antenna base, you may need to apply some force to the plastic trim to allow room for the antenna, see image below**
- Install your Bullet Antenna directly onto the adapter by threading it onto the base. There is an o-ring on the base that allows you to thread the bullet until the logo lines up to your desired location. You don't have the screw the bullet all the way completely tight. At 3 complete turns the bullet will start to compress the o-Ring and you can stop there if you desire. You can screw it in an additional 2 more turns for a total of 5 turns if you want to. You can use this range of 3-5 turns to get the logo to align in the direction you want.
- The thread locking compound will take some time to fully set. The vehicle is safe to use and drive at any time.
- If you are having issues with antenna bases not fitting, please reference the images below to ensure you have received the correct antenna bases. If neither adapters fit, please reach out to us and include images of the adapters you received, also a picture of your trucks antenna base (on the hood of the truck) and include your trucks Model & Year.
